The idea of grilling on a outdoor Hibachi Grill originates from Japanese culinary culture.
Hibachi was previously referred to as cooking meat, seafood, and vegetables on a high heat metal cooking plate.
The burning wood or charcoal beneath the metal cooking plate provides heat to cook the food.
The idea of Hibachi incorporated into a modern, and innovative approach brings us the Charcoal Hibachi Grill.
The pre-seasoned grate makes grilling very easy and convenient.

The Manufacturer of Lodge L410 Pre-seasoned Charcoal Hibachi Grill.
The history of Lodge Cast Iron dates back to 1877 when Joseph Lodge moved to South Pittsburg, Tennessee, together with his wife.
In 1896, Lodge started his company that manufactured a wide range of cast iron products and cookware by the name Blacklock Foundry.
The company was booming until in 1930, it burned down.
Joseph and his family did not give up and three months later, their company made a great come back with Lodge Cast Iron.
In 1950, the company’s business and demand were growing.
In response to the increased demand, Lodge Cast Iron converted its foundry from hand-pour operation to an automated modeling processes.

The company began manufacturing its products more safely and effectively with automated processes, which was rare at that time.
In the 1970s, when the industry faced tough economic times, William Leslie Kellermann (grandson of Joseph Lodge) constructed and implemented a plan to reconstruct the foundry.
He brought back the employees to full 5-day workweeks in the Lodge Cast Iron.
In 1992, Lodge Cast Iron successfully replaced the coal-fire cupola furnaces with an electromagnetic induction melting system.
This grand change in the company earned Lodge Cast Iron the Tennessee Governor’s Award for Excellence in Hazardous Waste Reduction.
The company has earned a huge popularity, and very good reviews from the consumers and the media, for many, many years now.
Lodge Iron Cast continues to make achievements and provide quality and innovation in their cookware and other cast iron products.

It is fun when cooking on a portable cast-iron grill, but balancing the grill can make it a little off-putting.

It weighs 15kg or 32 pounds, which might be a problem for users who prefer a light-weighted grill.
Some people may even consider it a bit too heavy to be portable.

“Hibachi was previously referred to as cooking meat, seafood, and vegetables on a high heat metal cooking plate.”
WRONG. In Japan cooking on a metal plate is called TEPPAN YAKI. The griddle is a Teppan. A Hibachi is a type of live fire cooker found in traditional Japanese houses and restaurants.
Get your facts straight.
Hi BKhuna,
thank you for your sharing your view on this.
We all have learned something here.
Has anyone figured out how to lift the grill to flip it when the grill already has a fire/coals going??
Hi Veecee,
thank you for your question.
we would use pliers, or clean cloth, or something to pick that up.
But try not to scratch the grill when you use the pliers.
I have bought many Lodge Hibachi Grills in my life. I think they are great and the Lodge meets my needs.
Sadly the grill grade lasts only for about 2 or 3 years or so. Then it erodes heavily. But maybe I’m doing something wrong
There are not many Hibachi Grills to choose from. But the Lodge Grill is solid build and from a good company. I’m sure I will enjoy this grill in the summer. Especially as the grill plate is bigger than other Hibachi grills to my opinion.
I thought this grill would be better for what I paid. It’s not bad but could be better somehow
Nice grill for 2 to 3 people
Yesterday my new Lodge come and we tested it right away. Regardless of the weather.
We all love this hibachi grill! It is so solid and well made.
It’s such a pleasure to use it. I’m sure we enjoy the Lodge for many years to come
Great grill. However a bit too small for my taste
My wife and my four daughters got this for me for Christmas.
Best gift I’ve ever received! We have a gas grill and a Weber kettle, but when the two youngest are away in college, it’s perfect for the two of us. Pretty easy to car for, I use Pam olive oil spray before and after grilling. (On the grate and the exterior of the housing) and expect it will last for many years.
Great product, buy one!
Have had one for 5 years or so. Its amazing – It holds heat and evenly for many hours ( thick cast iron) – Easy to control temps. We have found the trick is to just put a single layer of coals along the bottom – do not double stack the coals – it keeps the heat nice and even. Will do a whole chicken and a plate of sausage easy with a few coals
BEST investment I made in the my backyard. LOVE it! Great to work with. Looks are deceiving. It looks small, but does big things. It can definitely take up all that is needed to feed a family of four in one sitting.
I have 4 grills, 3 smokers and 1 pit, I do wish they made this grill bigger. This grill is the BEST I’ve ever had…
This was a gift off of my wish list for Christmas for when my kids and I go camping. Could not wait so two days ago I cooked
a family pack of steaks and ribs tonight. This cooked evenually, however I made sure I had a temp probe when cooking as
always. My kids even like cooking marshmellows over this. Very durable and heavy with a carrying handle for ease of moving. Wish it had a cast iron top for storage, but overall I’m ditching my gas grill because the taste is much better with wood chips and charcoal.
A wonderful little grill! I find it works even better when placed inside a larger grill so the heat and smoke are retained better. The only slight complaint I have is that is a bit of work to keep it from rusting. Not the top grill but the ash tray grate is susceptible to rusting, probably because I make my own mesquite charcoal in metal coffee cans in the fireplace, which is extremely hot, and it burns off the seasoning every time. Still, very much worth the purchase. This little grill stays so hot for so long… but don’t expect to feed an army from it.
This is the best thing yet !!! Since my husband is not well and on oxygen it has been up to me to do the grilling. Since there is only the two of us this is the perfect size for us. Easy to use for an old lady 🙂
It’s great for grilled for two people, uses little charcoal and gives great flavor. I use it on my patio railing sitting on a 16×16 paving brick
I have wanted one of these Lodge hibachi style grill for years. Instead of getting one, because of it’s cost, I went through a succession of cheap imported hibachi grills they did a great job but they also didn’t last very long. I realized what I was doing was false economics. I finally got one for my birthday. Oh how I wish I would purchased one of these grills years ago. My Weber kettle grills not with standing this is the best charcoal grill I have ever owned. I always liked how the el cheapo hibachi grills cooked a hamburger, and this is the main reason why I purchased them. The Lodge Sportsmen Grill cooks a hamburger better then any that ever came off of any of the el cheapo’s. Now I don’t have to buy a new hibachi grill every year or so. The Lodge grill will out last me.
I got mine a few days ago. It only took 2 days from the time my order was placed, until it arrived. I cooked cheeseburgers on it last night, and they turned out perfect!! Lots better than on my big gas grill. I bought this grill to take hiking so we could cook at the car, and to take in my camper. I am not disapointed. This grill is perfect for that, and a treat to use. I own many lodge logic items, but this one is tied for first place, with my 10 1/2 pan, for being my favorite. Dont hesitate. You know you want it, and it is money well spent!
Terrific product. . .continue to be delighted. Bravo to the designers and production dept at Lodge.
I love this hibachi grill. Very heavy duty and has a very nice look to it. Great for hamburgers and hot dogs, steaks, pork chops, chicken, etc. Small footprint and very portable too. For those of you who love the taste of food grilled on real charcoal, and need to keep it small, this is the way to go! Very easy to assemble as all you have to do is bolt on the bottom legs plate and all the other parts slide right together. Some may consider it a little heavy as it is made out of cast iron, but this grill is going to last for ages if you take care of it. This is not the cheap light weight metal hibachi like you buy at Walmart or K-mart that is going to fall apart in a couple of years. This grill is going to last and is worth every penny. Made by Lodge located in South Pittsburg, Tennessee and certainly a name that you can trust.
Exactly what I was looking for bbqing at the park. Is small and compact to fit in my apartment closet during winter. Can fit in my shopping cart to roll to park along with other necessities. Is cast iron and well made, a bit heavy but that’s okay. It cooks great, need to use plenty of charcoal.
Easy assembly and well made. It was not quite as fancy as I had expected, but looks like it will do the job.
this thing is super cool. the wife and I use it a lot. cooking is great. it’s a bit top heavy when carrying. the handle could be a little more durable.
but, this thing is really nice.
Easy to assemble (2 minutes literally) , it is heavy but the size makes it easy to transport (excellent for camping, night at the beach or quick burgers in the backyard). Unfortunately the cooking grate came cracked twice(even after requesting a replacement). It is too much hassle to return the whole grill again for a crack but it’s a shame giving the quality of the product. Would definitely buy it again, but probably from the local camping store instead of doing it online.
Second Lodge Hibachi that I own. Got a part for my first one after 5 years of year-round use, several x a week. It was as easy as ABC from the Lodge company. I use “real” wood charcoal and cook all year here in NJ. The price was soooo fabulous on Amazon that I bought the 2nd one! 1/3 the price of the one purchased in a store. Gotta love it!
I recieved one of these grills as a christmas gift. It works great uses very little charcoal perfect size for my wife and I. It also gives whatever you are grilling great flavor. I purchased a second as a gift to my parents and they love it.
perfect for cast iron fans or people who like good even heat in a short time you will love this grill.
I purchased this product to replace a broken charcoal grill. The grill allows for easier lighting of wood charcoal and burns the charcoal much better and longer. It cooks food faster and you can even cook at the edges. It is a very durable and heavy product.
Just got the Logic 410. You get great grill bars across burgers and dogs and nothing stuck to the grill. This little grill is all cast iron, it is beautifully designed and well made, easy to use and to clean. This little grill is the best one we’ve ever had!
We were looking for an old hibachi style grill to take to our time share. This one was perfect! It was durable cast iron and should last a life-time and the grilling area was bigger than expected. If I could recommend any change it would be to make an adjustable grate to move up and down to raise or lower depending on the heat of the charcoal.
